Book Review: Violent Triumphs (White Monarch #3) by Jessica Hawkins

Hello, everyone!!   As usual, it’s been AGES since I’ve posted here. I’m using a borrowed computer, so I’m taking the time to update the website and post more review here! I think I’ll be getting a new computer pretty soon (fingers crossed) so hopefully I’ll be better at keeping up with the website.

I am, however, posting on my  Bookstagram  which is the best place to keep up with me and my reviews (and also my Goodreads, which is where all the books I read are rated (I write at least a bit of my opinion on most of them too).

Anyways, yesterday my kindle got a treat in the form of the ARC for Violent Triumphs by Jessica Hawkins (the book is out NOW too) and I read it so fast! You guys, this series is SO GOOD!!!

The highly anticipated conclusion to the “emotional, steamy, and dangerous” USA Today bestselling White Monarch series.

I’ve become a queen to the forsaken, a leader to thieves, and the wife of a man who instills fear in all who cross his path. He was the husband I didn’t want. Now, I can’t fathom life without my king.

I should’ve been ready for anything. Like the caterpillar that feeds on poison during metamorphosis, I was raised in the dangerous world of cartel crime. But nothing could’ve prepared me for Cristiano de la Rosa, his brother’s poison, or the Calavera cartel.

This is still a story about a love strong enough to topple households, unite enemies, and divide brothers. Resilient enough to bring down those who would try to destroy it . . . and selfless enough to make the ultimate sacrifice.

But I was warned, and so were you. Death’s day always comes. This time, it will find what was once a caterpillar is now a butterfly—and hell hath no fury like the White Monarch.

“I wouldn’t be allowed in Heaven, but I swear on all that’s holy—I’d rattle the gates until they let me have you.”

***ARC received in exchange of an honest opinion***

Violent Triumphs is the 3rd (and final) book in the White Monarch series by Jessica Hawkins. And this is one of my favorite series of 2019.

I absolutely love what Jessica Hawkins did with this series. These books are different than any others I’ve read, even ones in similar genres or tropes. Jessica always delivers the level of angst I crave and her writing is so good!

This book starts exactly where the 2nd ended and it is action packed from page 1. One of the things I most liked is that we can see the characters evolution. Natalia becomes a very strong young woman and Cristiano becomes even more swoony.

Both of them need really trust each other and become real partners. It was great actually seeing them develop feeling for each other and also seeing those feelings (and them) mature.

Their story came full cycle and the conclusion left me completely satisfied. I live how Jessica manage to give them an ending that would actually fit them and they deserved.

Violent Triumphs has angst, romance, a very flammable couple, action and a story so gritty that will grip you from the first page to the final.

This book will keep you on the edge of your sit and you won’t want it to end because letting go of Natalia and Cristiano is very hard. All because of Jessica’s incredible writing skills. She makes us believe in the characters and stories she comes up with.

Violent Triumphs is a triumph of its own because it’ll remain with me for a long time!
